Ike covers Crystal Beach

Ike sure took a toll on Texas. After touching base with everyone on my dad's side of the family, the Hammonds have begun to check out the damage. The beach cabin that my Grandpa built may have been washed away. The bolivar peninsula seems to be non existent now. No one can get down there to check it out. Several of our family members had cabins right on the beach. I remember Dr. Wellum asking if there were any good Texas Beaches, well it seems that the beach where I grew up going to every summer is now gone. We found some aerial pictures of Crystal Beach. It looks like the water washed right over the peninsula into the bay. Take a look. Praise the Lord that David was able to get Aunt Barbara out of harms way. I am glad that everyone in the Port Neches area is okay as well. God protected our family. I pray now that the damage is manageable. I will sure miss crystal beach, it may not have been the prettiest beach in Texas but we had lots of fun there.

Check out these pictures we found on a Houston News site:

Thanks Gieses

A few of you may have heard about the slight finder binder I was in before Will and I moved back to Texas. Which we finally found out was ruled NOT my fault, yay! It totaled my car, however, and we were left with one car for Will and I to move home in. Praise the Lord, we have a wonderful family. My sister and her husband were so generous to offer us their expedition. Will and I were overwhelmed by their blessing! We just wanted to share what an amazing family we have and how the Lord can turn a catastrophe into a blessing.

What an amazing Blessing! it is the perfect mommy car. Thank you Thank you Thank you!

We love you !

Tummy Talk II- funny faces!

I mentioned in the last tummy talk that dad always drew on my mom's tummy when she was 9 months pregnant. In honor of tradition Will busted out the markers. Introducing Liam...

Will, gave him sandy blonde hair and green eyes, and really full lips. hehe.

Pregnant and Barefoot- Girl's day!

The other day Nicole invited me to join the girls and go have our nails done. I had a wonderful pedicure. If Liam should decide to come, I'll have pretty toes. Ella gave her best friend, Margaret a Manicure and Pedicure for her birthday. They had so much fun, they sat in one chair and looked at the adds in magazines.
The girls catching up one the latest news.
The swelling in my ankles has gone down and I now have pretty toes.

So you think you can Dance!

Congrats to Fort Worth's Joshua for Winning, So you think you can Dance! Will and I were super excited to see Josh win this year! He is insanely talented. Even though he was untrained he is able to do some amazing moves. We voted! What can I say Liam called it!

Tummy Talk

Every time my family is together and we are praying for a meal or something, and there is a pregnant girl in the family, my dad prays for the "little one in the tummy" my mom thinks it is so funny that he says tummy. Like I will be the first woman to give birth to a child from her stomach. I thought I would named this entry "Tummy Talk" in honor of my parents. I am now officially in my 9th month and I have some thoughts about Pregnancy and the little guy inside me.
Liam has been extremely active from the first time I could feel him move. Now that he has settled into a specific position it seems more like daily exercises.
Every night at 10:30 to about 11:45 sometimes later, Liam does his calf presses. He pokes his little feet out the side of my stomach and plays games with daddy. Will pushes his feet back in and then Liam moves his feet to the other side of Will's hands. It is funny to see this 2 inch bulge sticking out the side of my belly. It is very obvious when he is on one side verses the other.
I watch so you think you can dance every time I get a chance and I think that he has learned a few moves.
A little something he learned from Joshua. Liam Likes this position.
I haven't quite figured out how to connect you tube with my blog so I thought I would just add the link. I think Liam was paying attention to some of the tricks the b-boys have been doing on the show.
From Liam's feet to MY feet:
I almost made it with out my feet swelling. Today I noticed, some changes to my feet, and for some reason it is worse on my left foot. Oh the joys of pregnancy.

My belly button is now an out-ie.

This was taken on August 3, I will be 38 weeks on the 5th.

My dad and mom had a tradition to draw a face on my mom's belly when she was super prego like this. I'll have to get back to you on that one.

Full Term

Here is what Baby center.com has to say about week 37...
Congratulations! Your baby is full-term! This means that if your baby arrives now, his lungs should be fully mature and ready to adjust to life outside the womb, even though your due date is still three weeks away. He weighs 6 1/3 pounds and measures a bit over 19 inches, head to heel (like a stalk of Swiss chard). Many babies have a full head of hair at birth, with locks from 1/2 inch to 1 1/2 inches long. But don't be surprised if your baby's hair isn't the same color as yours. Dark-haired couples are sometimes thrown for a loop when their children come out as blonds or redheads, and fair-haired couples have been surprised by Elvis look-alikes. And then, of course, some babies sport only peach fuzz.

Kelley's Wedding

Kelley and Dave are hitched! I rode down to Waco a few weekends ago to go to Kelley's wedding. Kelley and I were room mates my first year at Baylor. She is awesome and was a beautiful bride!

CONGRATS Kelley and Dave!
A Shout out to all my houstonians!
The grooms cake was a 3 layer cookie cake... WOW!
BEAUTIFUL flowers!

Lone Star Park

Horse racing in Texas! While Will was still in summer school in Louisville, My parents invited me to attend a NFL Alumni function with them at Lone star Park. It may not be as famous at Church Hill Downs, but my experience with horse racing Texas style was worlds away from the Derby. We ate a buffet dinner up the "silks" tables as we watched from the, very well A.C.ed dinning room, and then went down to the track to watch the last race close up. We had been several times before, usually on Mother's day, but this was my first time back since my adventure on Derby day. I think we walked away in the black. I had a blast, thanks dad and mom for letting me tag along!
