The Greek Orthodox Church here in town has a huge fund raiser every year. They have a Greek festival. You can eat Greek food watch dancers and take tours of the church. Will and I took Liam last Friday night. WE had a great time. It was Liam's first Greek festival outside of my womb.
He really enjoyed the music and the food.
Will's Uncle Bill and Aunt Karen go here.
When we walked into the festival the sun was hitting this mosiac dead on. I was so beautiful.
The students performed Greek dancing. Liam was dancing to the music too.
He was patting his legs to the beat.
This is Liam with the program. He likes to show us his belly button, it is his new trick.
"Let's eat!"
Liam tasting Dolmadas
Gyro, Dolmadas, and assorted Spreads with Pita Bread... MMMMM!
Liam wasn't cooperating with the church tour so Will took him out and let me go on the tour.
This is some stained glass in the entry way.
An Icon on above the doorway. Almost every Icon of Jesus has him holding the Scriptures.
John 1:1
This is the top of the dome
The 'gates' to the alter
Everythng in the church and about the Greek orthodox has a symbol or a meaning. It was really interesting
This represents Christ tomb and during Easter they decorate with flowers it and carry it around the church.
This was a honey dessert, kind of like doughnut holes but bigger and thicker.
Very yummy!
Liam was checkin' them out too.
We love Greek Festivals! OPA!!!
